And That's a Wrap for Libra Season (or almost)...

Exploring Feminine & Masculine Polarities

This Libra season for me has been all about finding the balance between my feminine and masculine sides (lol when is it not?). Learning how to dance between my feminine and masculine polarities, exploring the yin and the yang, the light and the dark… As you might already know, Libra is all about balance, justice, & relationships. Think of Libra as the perfect container to bring more harmony in your relationship with others, with your environment & with yourself.

I normally do a weekly or a monthly oracle reading for myself to understand the energies at play and how to navigate these in the best possible way (highly recommend to do this for yourself or with me here), so when I drew out the oracle cards for this Libra season, it truly was like a match made in heaven.

The first card I drew outJoan of Arc (aka “The Warrior of light”) from The Divine Feminine Oracle. This legendary heroine represents “the power that we all possess when we’re aligned with our calling”. Joan of Arc understood the power of vision and conviction, she had a steel-like faith in herself & followed her inner voice like no one else did (I mean come on, as a teen she led a whole army that forever changed the history of an entire nation). This warriores is a reminder for us to find strength, direction, bravery and the courage within us.

The second card I drew out → Ho’zho (“The Beauty Way of the Navajo”) from Earth Warriors Oracle. This card talks about the way of the Divine Feminine, an invitation for us to release control and surrender to the vastness and beauty of life. The Beauty Way is all about allowing life to unfold itself, becoming receptive instead of figuring things out through control. Ho’zho calls upon the beautiful, trusting, & open aspects of ourselves. “When you relax into the way of the Divine Feminine, she will show you many possibilities, she will help you attract what you need & want most.”

Third card, last but not least → Messenger (“Bringing Harmony & Balance”) from The Starseed Oracle. As you can tell by this deck’s name, this oracle channels the wisdom of different Starseed nations… the Messenger card alludes to Sirian energy, a lineage of souls that have been dedicating lifetimes to uplifting the planet. I won’t dive deeper into this aspect, but what I do want to point out is that this card invites us to honor both the Sacred Feminine & the Sacred Masculine within & without. To bring about balance and harmony between these two energies.

Can you see how these three cards deliver a bigger message altogether? This was when I really understood that the three different oracle sets were communicating with each other and delivering a deeper message when observing them as one big idea instead of separating them. By now I’m sure you’re able to see the very obvious crossing of information. The first card (Joan of Arc) represents the Divine Masculine aspect, the second card (Ho’zho) represents the Divine Feminine aspect, & the third card represents balance. The conclusion: inviting balance between these two energies in my life.

That said, I allowed myself to carefully observe these two energies in my life throughout this season. It’s so interesting how it’s so easy to fall out of balance very quickly and how fast one can also get back on track. At times I would see myself trying to direct or control too much, forgetting how to trust. When I caught myself doing this I would breathe deeply and allow myself to loosen my grip, to surrender into the present moment & make room for the Universe. I can’t say I have found the perfect formula nor the perfect balance, but what I can say is that this is an everyday practice & that awareness of these two energies within you is the first step into finding balance within yourself.

Now let’s dive a little deeper into Feminine & Masculine polarities, two sides of the same coin. (Mini heads up! In case you didn’t know, we all carry feminine & masculine energy within us, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. Also, they’re both necessary and one is not better than the other). For you to grasp the concept of Feminine energy, you can think of a cat. A cat is mysterious, luxurious, sensual, a night animal & needs its own space... And then of course, you can think of the Masculine energy like a dog: active, obvious, constant, thrives by daylight & devoted to its owners. Here’s a small list from the latest book I’m studying from Minke de Vos where she names the different aspects of the Divine Feminine & Divine Masculine attributes within us:

Okay cool so now what? Why does this matter? What should you do with this information?

The first thing I invite you to do is observe. Become aware of how these two energies are playing out in your life, in your environment, in your relationships with others & with yourself. Start by observing your daily habits/practices, how do you move throughout your day? Second, if you find an imbalance between these two essential energies in your life, consider what are some actionable steps you can take to invite more harmony in your life.

But wait a minute, why does balance matter?

A human who finds harmony between its yin and its yang is someone who is fully integrated, who can stand in its full potential, someone who can dream big and stay centered at the same time. We are now being called as a collective society to bring these two energies back into balance… I mean just look at the rising of the Divine Feminine currently happening in Iran (here’s an amazing podcast episode that will help you understand Iran’s current situation and the relationship with the Divine Feminine). We are looking into a global movement where both energies are needed at the same time. Both energies are needed for the wheel to go around. One cannot exist without the other.

Exploring these polarities in your life can be done from a place of love, play & joy. This is a game after all, and understanding these qualities can help you recover lost aspects of yourself along the way. For now, I want to leave you with some journaling questions that you can write down (masculine) or you can simply reflect/feel upon (feminine).

  1. What are the predominant masculine qualities you observe in yourself?

  2. What are the predominant feminine qualities you observe in yourself?

  3. Is there a big difference between both energies? Which one carries more weight in your life?

  4. What is 1 actionable step you can take to create more balance in your life?

From the oracle cards:

  1. Joan of Arc → “What would be possible for you if you believed steadfastly in your own vision?”

  2. Ho’zho→ “Can you allow yourself to let go & trust that what is needed is coming to you?”

  3. Messenger → “ How can you honor the Sacred Masculine & Feminine within you?”
